Precautions for Home Portable EV Charger Installation

Easy Installation

Our Home Portable Electric Vehicle Charger is ready to plug into any CEE/SCHUKO outlet and comes with a 1.5m input cable.
When hiring an electrician, request that they install a CEE/SCHUKO receptacle for the rating of your Charger.
Please try to replace the old CEE/SCHUKO OUTLET, the old equipment may cause poor contact and burn the socket and plug.

    Check Your Socket Circuit Breaker

Our EV Charger's max working current is 40A(PCD041). Please check your breaker whether more than 40A. (50A or 60A is also OK)
The good choice is the 50A circuit breaker. Otherwise, it will trip your breaker if the breaker max Amp is lower than 40A
If you choose a charger with a maximum current of 16 amp or 32 amp, you don't need to choose a 40 amp circuit breaker.
No matter which charger you choose, check in advance whether it meets your home circuit conditions

      • PCD018/031/032 maximum charging current is 16 A
      • PCD041 maximum charging current is 32 amps and 40 A
      • PCD050 supports three-phase charging with a maximum current of 24 A, and also supports single-phase charging at 32 amps

Warning! Fully plug into your socket when using

When using electric products, you need to fully plug into the socket so that metal plug fork can completely connect the socket.
If not, it will burn out socket because the bad connection.
When the charger is not used for a long time, please unplug the power plug to extend the life of the charger.

Home Wallbox EV Charger Installation Guide

        Easy installation

        • If you purchase a 16A single-phase (3.6kw)home charger, it can be connected to a distribution box of 16A/230V/single-phase or higher.
        • If you purchase a 32A single-phase(7.2kw) home charger, it can be connected to a distribution box of 32A/230V/single-phase or higher.
        • If you purchase a 16A three-phase(11kw) home charger, it can be connected to a distribution box of 16A/380V/three-phase or higher.
        • If you purchase a 32A three-phase(22kw) home charger, it can be connected to a distribution box of 32A/380V/three-phase or higher.
          For example

If you purchase a 32A three-phase home charger, it can be connected to a distribution box of 32A/380V/three-phase or higherAsk a professional electrician to do the installation and connect a live wire, an earth wire, and a neutral wire to the junction box.
If the live wire is incorrectly connected to the neutral or earth wire, the charger's circuit board will be burned. So, please check this before connecting.

            Check Your Circuit Breaker

If you buy a 16-amp single-phase charger,Our EV charger's working current is 16 amps single-phase. Please check your circuit breaker if it is rated for more than 16 amps. (20A, 30A... is also OK)

A good choice is a 20-amp circuit breaker.

Otherwise, your circuit breaker will trip when the maximum rating is less than 16 amps.

Take this example, and buy chargers with different powers to match different circuit breakers.

            Renault's Grounding Problem
